Seahawks adding former Rams TE Gerald Everett on one-year deal

Los Angeles Rams v Washington Football Team

The Seattle Seahawks are signing former Los Angeles Rams tight end Gerald Everett, a source confirmed to 950 KJR on Wednesday.

The addition was first reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The deal is reportedly worth up to $6 million for one year.

Everett gets to reunite with new Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron in Seattle. Waldron had spent the previous three seasons as the Rams' passing game coordinator before being hired as the replacement for Brian Schottenheimer in January.

Everett has split time at tight end with Tyler Higbee in the Rams' offense. He's had some standout performances at times with his best performance coming in 2019 game against Seattle. Everett caught seven passes for 136 yards in the contest. It remains the only 100-yard game of his career so far in four seasons with Los Angeles.

Everett will join Will Dissly and last year's fourth-round draft pick Colby Parkinson at the position for the Seahawks.

Everett has appeared in 61 career games for the Rams with 11 starts. He's caught 127 passes for 1,389 yards and eight touchdowns.

Everett was a second-round pick out of South Alabama in 2017.
