This Is The One Thing Most Moms Want For Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day Celebrated In New York

When Valentine's Day rolls around, people definitely expect different things based on what place they're at in their relationship. In the honeymoon phase, it's definitely a bigger deal. And then when you're newly married it's also a big deal!

But when you have kids, things definitely change a bit.

In fact, a study of 1,000 moms found that the number 1 thing moms want for Valentine's Day is simple: alone time.

The study was done by OnePoll in conjunction with Zulily, and set out to figure out what exactly moms wanted from their spouses after such a hectic year... and I guess the result should come at no surprise. After so many parents have been working from home while trying to also get their kids through school or simply keep them entertained, I tooootally get it.

The results say "me time" is at the highest demand - so husbands and spouses find a way to let the mom in your life have some peace and quiet!

Me time is so important that nearly 3 in 4 moms who were surveyed said they felt spending time with their partner was just as important as spending some time apart when you're married. And they also said on average they need about 13 hours of "me time" a week, which by the way, is less than 2 hours a day!

The study also found that a lot of people's love languages have either shifted or changed entirely since the pandemic began about a year ago. These new version of their love languages include partners doing household chores (45%), cooking a meal at home (36%); and sending and sharing memes (27%). And believe me, I tooootally get that.

Being at home for nearly an entire year with 2 (now almost 3!!) year old twins, both my husband and I working from home has been a LOT. But when Michael takes charge of chores around the house, or does something extra for the kids, that is seriously a love language for me!!

So yeah, I get it moms, I think some me time would be CLUTCH this Valentine's Day, but also I still want to spend some one on one time with my husband!! What about you?!
